Marine Lighting Products
Over the past several years there have been major improvements in both the efficiency and
brightness of LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). These improvments make LED-based products ideal
for marine applications because of their significant reduction in power consumption (up to
90%), and incredibly long burn time.

FirstStar MKIII LED Anchor Light
Note: We are currently engineering and testing an improved design for the FirstStar
MkIII anchor light. The new design is an improvement on the original model and will
be brighter and compatible with both 12V & 24V power systems and, like the MkIII
before it, draw only a minimum of power. Details regarding this new light will be posted
here when available.
Original MkIII description: This is the latest MkIII version of our FirstStar anchor
light. It’s now recognized as the "Rolex" of low-energy, high performance anchor lights.
It’s a completely self-contained device that just replaces the normal incandescent bulb in
many common "all around white light" anchor light fixtures. It uses an infrared sensing
phototransistor to provide fully automatic on-at-dusk to off-at-dawn operation. It uses 12
white 140 degree SMD Nichia LEDs mounted on a unique three-sided pylon array powered by our
proprietary "pulse drive" circuit that also provides exceptional protection for the LEDs
from power spikes common in marine systems. Power consumption is about 1 watt from 10-14.5vdc
for honest two-mile visibility. It will function at full brightness all the way down to about
9 volts… quite a safety advantage.
